Terms and Conditions

  • Only individual memberships are eligible to participate in this promotion. The following membership types are excluded:
    1. DEAR Organisations;
    2. DIYREAD@Community;
    3. Institutional Borrowers;
  • “Physical book” refers to any physical library material, including magazines and audiovisual materials.
  • “eBook” refers to eBooks, eMagazines and eAudiobooks borrowed via one of these websites or apps
    1. NLB Mobile app;
    2. catalogue.nlb.gov.sg;
    3. nlb.overdrive.com or Overdrive app (NLB Collection only);
    4. libbyapp.com/library/nlb or Libby app by Overdrive (NLB Collection only)
  • Patrons can earn a maximum of 16 points for physical books, and 8 points for eBooks each day. The maximum number of points that a patron can earn in one day is 24 points.
  • Points from all borrowed items will be credited within 24 hours from the time of borrowing. Points are not immediately credited upon borrowing.
  • The online quiz is available on www.go.gov.sg/bookbugs monthly from December 2020 to August 2021.
  • Points from the online quiz will be credited within 5 working days after the end of each monthly quiz period. E.g. for the monthly quiz in December 2020, points will be credited by 7 January 2021, 2359 hours.
  • Patron will be credited a maximum of 12 points each month for participation in the monthly quizzes. Patrons can participate in two quizzes per month, one in English and one in a Mother Tongue language (i.e. Chinese, Malay, or Tamil). Patrons can earn a maximum of 6 points from each quiz. If your score is 7 and above, you will receive 6 points; If your score is 6 and below, you will receive 3 points. Points will be awarded based on your scores for your first attempt in the English quiz and your first attempt in the Mother Tongue Language quiz each month.
  • Redemption is available at all public libraries from 14 December 2020 to 30 September 2021 during library operating hours, except library@chinatown, library@esplanade, and library@orchard.
  • All card redemptions at the libraries are while stocks last.
  • Once you have clicked “Redeem”, 4 points will be deducted from your account.
  • The QR code and 8-digit code will be displayed on your myLibrary account page as well as sent to your email address registered with your myLibrary ID.
